After nearly five years waiting aHUS Patients in England are to have an established Expert Centre for aHUS . Located in Newcastle upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and led by Professor Tim Goodship the centre will be responsibe for overseeing and controlling the treatment of aHUS patients in England, including the prescibing of eculizumab for those who need for as long as they need it.

The Newcastle upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust has been at the heart of UK research into aHUS for many years , and the clinician’s there ,led by Prof. Tim Goodship , have been pivotal in getting the best treatment that aHUS patients need for as long as they need. Today ,with this announcement, even more good has come from NHS England for aHUS patients both now and in the future.”
